So you guys actually play Rugby Football Union in Asheville?

Asheville Men's Rugby push for a try

Yes, we do! We love it, and we think you will too. Rugby provides a rare opportunity for full contact sport outside of the college or professional setting. It's a sport that falls somewhere in between hand-to-hand combat and chess but with lots of running. Involvement in this game is a great way to stay in shape. It develops character and will test you on a regular basis.

The old clichΓ© is that Rugby is a game for all shapes and sizes. Every body type can add a different weapon to the team. Doesn’t matter if you're big or small. As long as you can be brave, you'll find a job to do on the field. Previous team sport experience is useful as Rugby requires collaboration, coordination and a whole lot of running.

ARFC Asheville Men's Rugby Scrum

With the Asheville Rugby Football Club, you'll have the opportunity to represent more than yourself. We relish the opportunity to show competing regions what Western North Carolina is about.

Due of the immense challenge that Rugby poses, great camaraderie exists before and after matches. A core part of grassroots Rugby is respect for our opponents and the social interaction that goes along with it. Rugby has a long tradition of sportsmanship, fair play and ethical conduct, but also what you’ll come to know as β€˜bastardry’.

Daddy Mac’s – Our Official Team Bar

If there’s rugby happening in Asheville, the third half is definitely at Daddy Mac’s. After every Thursday night practice, after every match, and on plenty of nights in between, ARFC rolls in for cold drinks and the kind of rugby stories that only get told over a bar top.

Massive shout-out to Daddy Mac’s for backing Asheville Rugby and welcoming our players, fans, and opponents with open arms (and full glasses). They support the club, we support the bar, and the tradition continuesβ€”so grab a pint, talk some nonsense, and join the ARFC chaos.
